Hi Ann, According to Google maps Sunset Dr. is about 10.5 miles from the Zoo. The Zoo has a free shuttle bus that runs during the summer months from 4th Ave. to the Zoo. 4th Avenue is in the heart of downtown Anchorage and only 1.5 miles from Sunset Dr. If you are not visiting during the summer months a rental car or a taxi are your best options as the Zoo is not near a bus stop / rout.
