I see comments that Lambert's Cove Beach is private until 6 pm, but it looks as though this is only an issue if you come via car (because you need a parking pass). If we come via bike, will we be able to get onto the beach before 6 pm even though we don't have any kind of pass?

They have charged for walk on passes before. Be aware. Call town of west Tisbury parks and rec to know for sure

The walk from the car to the beach is quite long on a sandy path. I am not sure of the distance but it took 8-10 minutes walking at an average rate. I did not see any beach wheelchairs available for rental. The car park has an attendant, however, I think they are there to mostly check permits. I am sorry, in my opinion it has a very low wheelchair accessibility unless you have the large beach wheelchair with the big tires. I just did a little digging and found that you can ask the town clerk for a beach wheel chair ( I found that on a medical equip rental site).
