I visited the Timucuan Visitors Center today. They have a quaint small museum and history of the Timucuan Indians and development of the Ft. Caroline area. I was educational and informative. hanahwy的完整评论

I did not see any particular area where a party could be held under cover. You could contact the Park Ranger about it. It is a historical area with the house and outlier buildings. They have some tours. The main house was not open to tour when we were there. Don't know if any damage from hurricane Irma either.
What would be the best way to get out there if you have no car available ?

It's far out in the middle of nowhere. Except from car service, maybe there are tours that take you out there. I don't have information on that though.
