Around 9:15 a.m., train No. 56 on the Port Jervis Line, which left from Port Jervis at 7:39 a.m., fatally struck a pedestrian just east of Ramsey train station, said NJ Transit spokesperson Kyalo Mulumba. The train was scheduled to reach Hoboken at 9:52 a.m.

A person was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Monday morning near the Ramsey station. The pedestrian was hit by a Port Jervis line train around 9:15 a.m., NJ Transit said in a statement.

John Redinger, 62, was struck around 9:15 a.m. just east of the Ramsey train station on Monday, NJ Transit authorities said.
