Explaining the EF Scale used to measure tornado strengthFARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – We owe much to the late Dr. Ted Fujita. His scale for classifying the strength of a tornado is still used today, more than 50 years after it’s introduction.
He immersed himself in research on tornadoes and introduced the “Fujita Scale”, a six-point scale to classify degrees of tornado intensity.
