2020年11月13日 · Just looked at the Butterball Frozen Breast Meat Roast, they are up to a 20% solution of water, food starch, salt, flavorings, etc. A typical frozen Butterball turkey is only up to 8%. A fresh Butterball turkey is only up to 4%. Big differences in water injection.

Do you remove hard plastic clip holding legs together?
2015年11月26日 · The packaging on my turkey said to leave it in place. Temperatures 350 or so and below won't bother it. The plastic doesn't melt until a much higher temperature. That said, if I take it off, I'll tie the legs together with string. Keeps the legs from drying out too bad and also makes for a cleaner presentation if the legs are secured.
Too soon to buy a fresh turkey for T-Day?
2003年11月24日 · The turkey was a fresh butterball turkey - and felt pretty solid (I know, govt regulations 'fresh' being between 0 and 28 deg F). My fridge is also pretty cold (usually around 30F, freezes some stuff but I like my things cold). I was going to throw it in Fat Man's Brine tonight, before pulling it out Wednesday night for a Thursday fry. Did I goof?
