Mar 21, 2012 · Hello - First time post here, although I've consulted the site many times looking for answers. I've got a 2005 CTS, 3.6 VVT, 167K with misfire detected in cylinder 1, had AutoZone run the codes and will list below what the codes read:

Oct 2, 2014 · I replaced the engine in my 2006 CTS (3.6, M6) with a 2008 Vue 3.6 using information supplied by simple2me's posts. I triple checked the timing chain alignment, (although I could be wrong three times in a row). I originally had a p0014 code, but after changing the camshaft solenoid the code disappeared and then the p0017 appeared.

So I cleaned my throttle body really well when I did intake plenum and valve cover gasket change recently. I got significant benefit from that including more stable idle and less vibration at idle. But it felt like there was something wrong.

Dec 20, 2019 · Cadillac recommends 87 octane preferably Exxon Mobil, BP, Shell, or Chevron. These four national brands all have detergent additives. I have a 2015 SRX and a 2017 CT6 both with the 3.6L engine using what I stated with no problems and peak performance. Don’t waste your $$$ and save at the pump with recommendations proven and tested by Cadillac.
