2016年5月25日 · I don't believe distal myopathy is a subcategory of myotonic dystrophy. There is no myotonia and onset is later in life. There are many subcategories of distal myopathy, and I don't have a specific diagnosis as to which type because the defective gene hasn't been identified, even though (my DNA) I've had full exome sequencing.

I have Unspecified myopathy (after seeing many specialists in Illinois, St Louis and at Mayo), many lab tests, radiology studies, muscle and skin biopsies, but it can’t be specified any further. That has, of course, been frustrating after 17 months of extreme symptoms.

2019年5月11日 · It did not show up on MRI. With more advanced myelopathy, it does show up on MRI as a whitish area in the spinal cord and can be permanent damage. If you have myelopathy and scoliosis, you may want to see a spine surgeon who's area of interest is in spine deformity. Here is a short video from my spine surgeon at Mayo about scoliosis.

2022年6月6日 · I had a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy in January 2021. My tumor was located in the head/neck area of the pancreas and was approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter. My recovery was not horrible, but it was lengthy. I was admitted to Mayo Rochester for 10-11 days, as I had trouble with bowel/bladder function resuming.
