2018年12月8日 · my kitty hasn't been eating much since his insulin started. My prescription bottle of entyce arrived in the mail today and I gave him his first dose and he immediately started salivating like crazy. he has stopped salivating now but seems generally miserable. Can't get him to purr which has never been a problem before.
Has any one used Entyce appetite stimulant on their diabetic cat ...
2009年12月28日 · First, Entyce has not been well researched for use in cats and second, the side effects especially the cardiac related side effects are concerning. They need to do more research. Personally, I don't think cats are small dogs. Perhaps you could ask your vet for an appetite stimulant (cyproheptadine or mirtazepine) that well established for use ...

2020年9月12日 · From all I have read prednisolone should be given all at once to be most effective. I know folks who have used Entyce with mixed results. It makes many drool so must taste nasty. I have used Zyrtec 1/3-1/4 a regular strength pill fir two cats now and it’s worked. My vet was fine with it.

2017年2月25日 · Yes, I know that Entyce is mostly for dogs, but vet said it was ok for cats (off label). It really worked. Just two doses and Mishka was eating again! Vet said that there were studies on use in cats and that it was safe even given Mishka's diabetes and CKD. All I can say is that it worked, with no apparent side effects.

2024年4月8日 · Diabetic cats (especially those that have had DKA and hepatic lipidosis) need as much food a you can get them to eat. They need 1 and 1/2 times as many calories as they normally eat. I would take your kitty back to get a feeding tube put in and to be stabilised with the electrolytes if in fact they are not normal now.
