A lot of limestone slurry particularly that from Vermont in the Omya cars goes to paper makers and is used in whitening paper. Limestone slurry has other uses also. Can't give any other details. I'm not a paper chemist. Dick Eisfeller Big "E" Productions

Synthetic gypsum is actually a PRODUCT of stack scrubbing; limestone is the scrubbing agent. Synthetic gypsum is also known as spent lime. I don't know whether 66D would thus be a loaded limestone train or an empty train that will load with synthetic gypsum, although the even number suggests loads.

Just a few thoughts. Some depots like Winslow appear to be painted. Others like Mountainair retain their stucco coatings. Stucco is a cement product. White Portland, sand and hydrated lime are mixed to specific formulas. Local sand may be other than pure white, even red tones.
