Same SSD, similiar problems. I put my PS5 into rest mode, and after it tried to come out of it, it crashed, restarted twice and I lost access to the SSD. Later I tried to play a game from the SSD (since it still showed as being playable, everything crashed and after that I was able to see and format the SSD again.

I'd trust the cooling of the newer slim over the original PS5. Sony has has overheating issues on PS3, PS4 and PS5 but then it was always fine on the update model (PS4 slim for example). So the PS5 slim is the only version I'd buy at the moment. Reply reply. David-J.
