2014年11月19日 · The advantage of both high reach and a ranged option with the spell casting makes the Spontoon an extremely versatile weapon and great for agressive playstyles because you always have a way to damage your opponent. You don't even need phantom range. I once fought someone using a two-handed Partizan while I used my two-handed Spontoon.

It can cast sorceries and staff hexes with both its 1H and 2H strong attacks, with a cast speed of 100. It can only be infused with Magic or Dark, like staves.

Can cast dark magic and magic with the strong attack. Has low cast speed Critical s on it are just plain crap. Good to use with the leo ring paired with it's 130 counter damage.

2020年9月9日 · Thanks for the input. For PvP, you're 100% correct (though the blue flame seems superior to the spontoon with identical stats, and without the Fth req). The thing is, for PvE, CMW is kinda awful because of the low number of uses, while Dark Weapon has enough uses to get through most areas easily, even if you switch the weapon occasionally.
Is Pilgrim's Spontoon the best choice to use as a main weapon?

It completely broke as I was fighting the Royal Swordsmen at the entrance to Drangleic Castle.

2016年8月29日 · The same mechanics with buffing and counter-hits also apply to Blue Flame, Sorcerer's Twinblade, and Mace of the Insolent. I found that Magic Weapon provided almost as much of a bonus as Crystal Magic Weapon with longer duration. Dark Weapon provides a larger bonus to Mace of the Insolent than Resonant Weapon.

2020年7月13日 · Double Spontoon is a whole lot harder to get than double mace since it doesn't reset with an ascetic. Neither one is really that great. Mace of the Insolent has 3-way split damage which isn't the kiss of death it is in other Souls games, but doesn't do it any favors. Generally you'd be better off with a decent chime and an infused mace separately.

2015年2月6日 · The Spontoon is only a good weapon as long as you don't meet someone stacking elemental defenses (especially GMB). It's countered hard by stuff like burrs as well and could technically do 0 damage to people if they have enough Magic/Dark defense.
