2011年8月23日 · We use to mix bondo, fiberglas resin, and hardener together for doing mould work in an automotive interior shop. You end up with bondo, that is hard as a rock, and quick. 2007年4月24日 · Thinning the bondo just a little bit with this stuff makes it spread like cake frosting, and it's way easier to get it to spead out thin. It got to where I would alway cover the whole panel and then use a long sanding board (17") to smooth it out. When the sanded bondo gets to where it's almost translucent, that's when you quit sanding.

2011年8月23日 · MEKP = Methyl Ethel Keytone Peroxide . (please excuse any spelling misteaks) MEKP is usually used with polyester resin for lamination with fiberglass or carbon fiber. Plastic fillers commonly use BOP paste (benzoyl peroxide). Either one will work, but MEKP mixes easier into resin, and BOP paste mixes easier into fillers.

2017年1月11日 · Put your bondo or fiberglass down and take the waxed paper and smooth it with your hand or a spreader,then pull the waxed paper off. It leaves a very smooth surface. Trick I learned fixing rust belt cars that wouldn't pass inspection. Do your metal work and you only need a skim of filler. You can't fix a panel right with bondo and no metal work.

2008年2月12日 · If the bondo is cold , then you need more resin , if its the summer time , you use less . Also use both the bondo cream hardner and the clear hardner when you mix it but 1/2 the amount of each . The best way is to mix some , then use a paint brush and brush so on a piece or cardboard for a test , if it looks too thick , add more resin .

2011年8月28日 · As a young know it all, I thought I could save big money by making my own "Featherfill" by thinning "bondo" with styrene (the proper way to thin polyester resin). It would be half the cost, if it worked. Well , it worked as far as spraying it on the fender, and it hardened, pretty much. But it clogged sandpaper liked crazy.
