2001年8月1日 · Standard caulk just isn't dense enough. A heavy, dense, elastic sealant like USG can make a great gasket for de-coupling the bottom plate of the inner theater walls. It's density, elasticity and adhesion make it really ideal for a gasketing material on a less than perfect (concrete) floor.

He indicated that there weren't really acoustic properties about acoustic sealant (in general), just that they are a high quality caulk that will remain flexible over time.

Ted's is about the same and if you ship it with your order for the buckets of GG it won't add much in the way of shipping cost. Just checked a 10oz tube of the DAP is $4 at Home Depot. A 28 oz tube of the recommeded stuff is $6-7.
