Fwiw I have not caught a Chinook over 25 lbs in the last 20+ years. 35 lb fish were common and even 40 lb fish weren’t that unusual . Those fish and those days are long gone unless something changes radically. But I still have those memories and they are good ones. JB Sr.

2023年7月25日 · I got a fish right away and then our luck changed. Break off, lost by the boat and two missed bites. Finally hooked and landed a nice coho. We bailed when the rain and wind picked up. This year has been unusual regarding break offs/saw offs. I'm using brand new 40 lb UG but I think I may step up to 50lb (UG or ande (CCWs advice)).

2014年3月6日 · Keep track of which plugs get bit. As people have mentioned, some plugs just fish better than others. Mark the good plugs, though the fish will do that for you, with teeth marks, and the little smilie that forms on the bill from the snap. These are keepers. Others are junk. If I fish a plug for a season and it doesn't get bit, I throw it away.

2024年6月26日 · The Wilson still has big fish, as does the Trask, but the number of 4/5 year fish in the runs seems to be far less than it used to be. My mother had the record in 1986 on the Wilson. 73# measured and weighed. Made the Oregonian and was the talk of the town for a bit. The skin mount of the fish still hangs in her house.
Motorhome owners, what do you have/recommend?
2024年11月12日 · We had an unusual coach. It was a 2005 Monaco Safari Trek. I would reccomend one if you can find one and make it we work for you. It is a 30 ft. Motorhome without a bedroom. The bed comes down from the ceiling. Very comfortable for two. Big V8 for towing.

2001年7月25日 · Mark may have some additional input, but what we usually do is use a spreader bar and a mooching rig with herring. Near the bottom for adult sable fish. Sable fish do not bite aggressively. Its not unusual for them to peck at it and swallow the hooks. Its like reeling in a log. But they sure taste good.-J

2024年1月3日 · Practice Thread? Too many good people have punched their tickets. I’m going to fish while I can, share what I can and enjoy it. I’m deep into 3rd quarter. The Columbia is 43F, green and normal height. It is gray, cool and breezy. I wrapped a new K-14 with Sardine and ran it out with the Wicked Wand (little yellow Fenwick).
