The little registry card or registry information is inserted with the bridal shower invitation, not the wedding invitation. Those that have a wedding website also put their registry information (name of store and registry number). We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond, they were very helpful there, guided us and helped choose the fine china.

FI sister went to target and registered for a samsung galaxy tab I believe, $180.00 rug plus 4-5 more rugs that were $80.00 and above, tire shine for the car and a few more things. In the end, these 2 registries had barely anything and 1 had nothing bought off it because of what general items and pricing.

At the min, honeymoon registries get mixed reviews. You may find that people in your crowd like them but you may also find lots of people who really dislike them.

I was in the same boat. We didn't register but my family wanted the traditional ladies get together. So I had a "bridal luncheon". We included recipe cards and advice cards in the invitation, which had no mention of gifts or registry. It turned out really nice, IMO.
Gift registry abuse--how often does this happen?
It actually was common enough that places like Bed Bath and Beyond tightened their returned policies so you no longer get cash back on registry returns and Target's registry exchange was already pretty tight. It's a shame that the fraudulent actions of some couples are what spoil it for the rest who just want to return the extra tray.
