Pros/cons to having two 8-port gigabit switches vs. one 16-port?

Depends on how much bandwidth you really need, as you will be bottlenecking the bandwidth between the switches to 1Gbps (assuming you are only using one link between the two). If you have multiple clients trying to pass data across that link, you may see congestion on it. I would go with a 16/24 port switch instead of a couple 8's.

And it looks to have 2 gig ports. 10/100 switches are also perfect for setting up a separate network for printers to live on. Keeping printers on a separate network avoids many of the security flaws printers seem to have.

Apr 8, 2015 · I've been reading some reviews on the newer SE3008 switch (8 port) and it's issues, one big issue I see is some say they have to reboot it after their modem has a disconnection (I guess the DHCP server being rebooted), which makes me wonder if the older LGS108 model with fewer features would be more dependable.
