Possible substitutes would be Chautreuse (which is more expensive, so probably not what you're seeking), or Drambuie (which will cost about the same, so unless you already have it, get the Benedictine). You could also just leave it out. For kicks, I've substituted Fireball for Benedictine in a Bobby Burns.

However you would need one less bottle in the cabinet and could buy only a 375ml bottle. In the end, we agreed, Green and Yellow both need a place in our liquor cabinet.
