2024年5月27日 · Ram Seal just crapped out on a 2019 black diamond 25 ton log splitter. I can’t for the life of me find a replacement kit. I’ve emailed the company and haven’t heard back. I’d assume there is a kit. I’d prefer not to rip it apart and attempt to match them up at local heavy equipment store. Thoughts? Model number BDBS25 Serial number 06543

They are powered by Briggs engines (where most DHT units are Kohler) and some of the Black Diamond units are powered by Honda GX engines. I've already got a commercial splitter, this should be fine for my buddies occasional use. This will sit by the OWB to make small kindling and process volunteer trees that come out of the woods.

2019年6月16日 · For a big box store hydraulic model these days, aim for a cycle time around 11 seconds or faster. Once you get above 2o or so tons, speed is more important than force IMO. I'm also a fan of the in-beam log cradle found on DHT, Oregon, and SpeeCo (CountyLine, Black Diamond, Huskee, et al.) splitters.

I recently just added about 1/2 qt of hydraulic fluid to the reservoir but other than that nothing strange or out of the ordinary has happened.

2019年9月11日 · Most manufacturers overrate their splitters. The size of the cylinder is what makes more force at the expense of speed. Realistically a 4" cylinder is a 15 ton, 4.5" is a 20 ton, 5" is 25 ton. Unless the 30ton is running a 5.5" cylinder (doubtful) the system would have to be at 3100 psi to get that force from a 5" cylinder.

I know they are all pretty much made in China unless you spend $3k plus, but they look like a pretty well-built splitter for the money. The one locally has a 11.5 TQ professional series Briggs on it. Marked at about $960 assembled, seems pretty tough to beat.

2010年9月21日 · You mentioned it splits when you rev the engine, this could be a sign that the engine is weak. Most engines develop maximum horsepower at near full throttle. Splitters are designed to be run at full throttle. The engines used on most splitters are the same as the ones used on lawn mowers. Last edited: Sep 21, 2010.
