2022年7月25日 · Something important to note here is that European cars, especially those in the northern areas (i.e. UK) don't have to make it to 250k miles - we generally drive such low mileages compared to the US that the cars are 25yo and have rusted in half before the mechanicals wear out.

Looks like my high mileage oil specifies 75,000+ as high mileage I had an 87 S10 with 410k miles on the clock. The whole body was sagging, everything squeaked, oil and exhaust leaks, but engine still very snappy. 4banger called the iron Duke. Sold it for $600, but it really had become apparently a death trap. In my opinion, that's not exactly high mileage. Its the mileage we're serviceable items fail, timing belts and chains due, etc, but no, that's not high mileage. 200k is getting high. Most things at 200k that fair, are the ancillaries. Injectors, pumps, etc. The issue with cars at 120k miles or so, is they're due an "expensive" service typically.

Just do a search here but it involves fluid exchange as well as a pan drop. On the other hand Honda transmissions are the week points and I always change my Acuras fluids at 30,000 miles from new and not a mile over.

They are buying at auction and have no idea of the cars history no matter what they say. Look at craigslist or car ads in better neighborhoods. I try to use synthetic, and just changed the oil myself in my 2012 Elantra to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Plus, which is supposed to be great for high mileage engines. Pennzoil has a $2 per quart rebate going on through the end of November.
