Personally, I rotate the FLYWHEEL to where the magnet is 2"-3" past the rear trigger leg of the magnetron on the compression stroke. Then "rattle" both rockers just to make sure they're loose and ready to gap.

No intake leak w/ carb cleaner I resealed the motor last year; was mowing and a huge cloud of smoke came out ,idle the motor down and pushed oil out breather tubes into air cleaner, then out the crankshaft seal. Motor has 40psi @ 3400 rpm, 20-24 psi at idle hot.

2024年4月15日 · Yes some of the newer ones had an electronic ignition coil/ much like the Briggs magnetron. But those aren't even close to the same thing as the SSI ignition on the larger cast iron Tecumseh. Most SSI units were a 2 piece with oma stator under the flywheel connected to the coil which was an aluminum housed unit whose lead actually fired the plug.

2012年6月13日 · Thanks. I thought it would be the magnets or the coil but without being able to properly test left me guessing. The coil's continuous but that does not mean it's not breaking down under load. I have a contact for a working mag assembly for a very reasonable price. The guy just has parts, no ability to refurbish.

Incidentally, I have a 7.3 Super Duty diesel and that failed to start the other day and one of the two batteries flunked a load test (passed recently). But just a wee bit loss if cranking power and voltage to ECM and the truck wouldn’t start.
Craftsman GT3000, No power to or through ignition switch
2024年5月27日 · Does anyone know if there is a trouble shooting guide that gives you test points and values for a Craftsman GT3000 ignition and wiring system and where I can see one??? I found what looks like a short from continuity checks on the ignition switch connector. The switch checks out fine when not connected.

2024年7月15日 · Have you found your problem yet, remove the cowl from the engine and check the kill wire from the coil/s, remove or disconnect the kill wire connector and then go through the motions of starting the mower, brake on, PTO disengaged, leave the cowl off for this test, if the coils are ok, then you should get spark, no spark, need to test the coils.

2024年2月23日 · U r correct.. 1 word of advice, after taking the steel lines off inorder to get to the nut (5).. HOLD 10 or 2.. otherwise the whole injector can/will TURN and bend/snap the return line.!!
