2018年8月22日 · I've been claiming business mileage for over 20 years now at the HMRC rate of £0.45 per mile and wanted to know (if anyone does) why the amount hasn't changed for decades & inline with inflation. Well you're wrong for a starters. it's only been £0.45 (for the 1st 10,000 miles) since the 2011/12 tax year, it was £0.40 before that.

In previous jobs I have recieved a car allowance to cover the cost of the car and then claimed Business mileage at 45p/25p rate. In my new job however I have been provided with a fuel card. It says that on 14-Apr-11 the NMR have a record of 11,000 miles. Then on 21-Apr-11 the DVLA have a record of 112,000 miles. It's a 10 plate Mondeo with 11,000 miles on the clock.
