We, the monastic community of Our Lady of Guadalupe, are situated in Oregon’s lush Willamette Valley. Presently, our community is comprised of 14 monks. We strive to live a balanced lifestyle based on the monastic values of common liturgical prayer, contemplative prayer informed by spiritual reading and manual labor.

We are a monastery of Cistercian (Trappist) monks who are devoted to a life of contemplative prayer, manual labor, spiritual study and hospitality. Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey began in April 1948 at Pecos in New Mexico.

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey sits on 1,300 acres of mixed woodland and oak savanna. The monks moved here from New Mexico in 1955. In order to support themselves, the 25 to 30 Trappist brothers who live here run a hardcover bookbindery, a bakery, a climate-controlled storage facility for local wineries, and a guesthouse.
