Silent Hill 2 - great story but flawed gameplay all around
2022年9月6日 · Silent Hill 2 is pretty much a linear experience. The Apartments can be confusing and the Num-Pad Puzzle was a little weird, but overall, Silent Hill 2 is never overwhelming the player with absurd road blocking the progression. Your second point is partly valid but Silent Hill never was an Action packed game like Resident Evil.

Well, the combat looks quite stiff and janky, especially the animations. But then again, this is Silent Hill after all so I'm not too miffed about janky gameplay. Plus this is Bloober's first attempt at combat so I'm not expecting RE2 levels of polish. Still, it could've been a bit better. The atmosphere looks solid though.

2024年5月31日 · So I just saw the new gameplay trailer for silent hill 2 and holy hell. IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! It’s just exactly what we were expecting from its 2001 Ps2 twin. The graphics got a very realistic RTX detailed improvement and the the atmosphere just looks horrifically fantastic. A few monsters I’ve seen make a return and few locations.

This is my first silent hill game and I’m not sure if I simply overhyped it in my head, or if I’m just too impatient for this type of game, or both. No hate on the game at all, I just feel like if I didn’t know it was a popular game I would’ve quit by now.
