2011年12月22日 · That looks like a pretty standard (albeit very nice) folding field camera from the later 19th or early 20th century. I don't believe that it is home-made. The lens looks more modern. It's a large-format camera for sure, but without a sense of scale, I can only guess at 5x7. Edited to add: The lens s/n appears to date it to about 1915.

From a sellers point of view, you will typically get a bit less but you sell the equipment faster and with less hassle. As for the researching on the internet, there's not one location for all vintage cameras. Typically you'll find a website that focuses on one type or brand.

2010年10月9日 · Upon magnification of the lens, I was able to see it was a Rodenstock, serial number 441863 (I think). According to the Rodenstock serial number chart, this lens was produced in 1930-31. Therefore the year of the camera manufacturing should be around that, 1930-1932. Also, the foot of the camera must have been painted black initially.

2024年7月16日 · "Old postcard" is a really easily accomplished version of "vintage", but if you added that vignette, it may be vintage in certain ways but is not a characteristic typical of old color post cards. Example attached below is from a Sony but is finished in a very vintage version PS Elements. For this type of scene avoid so called vintage lenses.
