Barrel marked "12 CYL" with a bunch of patent dates ending in Oct 16 1900. I measured the barrel by putting a dowel rod down the barrel and sitting it against the bolt and marked it at the muzzle. 2010年1月29日 · The Model 1897/97 is my all time favorite pump. As mentioned in previous posts, for many years, a 1905 vintage model 1897 was my go to gun for buddy shoots at the back fence. I've handled a number of different pumps over the years but, have yet to find one, including the Win. Model 12, that handled or patterned better than a Model 1897 or 97.

2012年9月23日 · Hello all, I just picked up a Winchester solid frame 1897 12 ga. Cyl bore SN 506,XXX and have a few questions. The shotgun has more of a brown patina than blue remaining, actions cycles correctly but seems tight. I noticed you have to slightly bump the slide forward before it will pump on the initial cycle.

2011年1月17日 · Admittedly, the lack of a vent rib on the 97 presents a bit of a challange during a 100 bird shoot on a hot summer day as the heat waves coming off the plain barrel tend to blur the target. IMO, Winchester gave the Model 97 and Model 12 full chokes which are equal or superior to those of many current high end and costly dedicated trap guns. DF

2006年11月10日 · While the Model 12 does indeed have this problem, the older sister, the Model 1897, does not! The 97 receivers are the same for 12ga or 16ga, and function fine with 2 3/4" hulls in 16 ga. This has been tested over time in at least 10 different 16ga 97's.
