So while the modem itself is capable of something according to Motorola, that doesn't mean it's going to do that in Comcasts system. There's a lot of technical reasons for it that I don't entirely understand.

So I purchased a new modem, one on the Xfinity recommended list , the Hitron CODA Docsis 3.1 modem. Even with the new modem, upload speeds are topping out at 50 Mb. I thought up to 200 Mb was available now.

2023年5月2日 · I see now as of May 1 that this device is no longer on the list, nor are the other following devices that were approved for use earlier in 2023: Netgear C7100V, Motorola MT7711, and ARRIS SVG2482AC. As of May 2, it seems like the only modem-router combo for Xfinity Voice left is the Motorola MT8733 (aside from renting from Xfinity).

Xfinity customer service told me to get xfinity modem (of course at monthly charge) to get 100 mbps upload speed. Is it necessary to upgrade cm1000v2? It is hard to find out exact upload speed capabilities of the modem.

With a modem approved for Mid-Split, listed on Xfinity's Next Gen list. You can check the typical uploads speeds available for your address.
