The reason the Porsche can't catch the Mustang is because this particle body style (65-66) Mustang won the SCCA B/P Championship in 1965, 1966 and 1967 often times finishing a race ahead of the A/Production 427 Corvettes. The Ford Mustang also won the 1966 Trans Am season, the 1964 Tour deFrance and the 1966 Group 2 Championship, just to name a few.
