In a couple of days, visitors will be able to enjoy the latest addition to the Seattle Waterfront, but KOMO News got an early look at the project. The ‘Overlook Walk’ will connect Pike Place Market to the downtown waterfront and take people down to the Aquarium below. This is another piece for the $806-million waterfront rebuild program. After all the talk, people are finally able to do the Overlook Walk. The $70 million project officially opened to the public on Friday, Oc. 4 and within minutes hundreds of people had descended on the spot, connecting Pike Place Market, the Waterfront, and Downtown. The Overlook Walk is the biggest piece of a puzzle that was created after the Nisqually Earthquake in 2001. The city estimates the rest of the Waterfront Park, including a rebuilt Pier 58, will be done by next year. #komo #komo4 #kom
